About Daniel Buckscott - Alaska Stock Photography
Wilderness Peaks Photography features the photographic works of Daniel Buckscott. Daniel's stunning photographs have won many awards, been featured in numerous museums, books, magazines, television shows, and his fine-art prints are purchased by art collectors around the world.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Daniel spent summers as a teenager exploring the mountains and rivers of Alaska. He found the wilderness a staunch contrast to the urban environment he grew up in, and was immediately impressed by Alaska’s huge wilderness landscapes. Daniel moved to Juneau when he was eighteen, to attend the University of Alaska Southeast. After studying Environmental Science and Biology, Daniel taught himself photography and turned to his true passion, conveying the beauty of the natural world through photography.
Daniel, his wife Jennifer, and their dog Marley live on a quiet cove in Auke Bay, Alaska. They spend most of the year traveling, exploring, and searching for new landscapes and wildlife to photograph. When not traveling, they enjoy their uniquely Southeast Alaskan lifestyle of sea kayaking, sailing, hiking, camping, and glacier exploration.
Daniel and Jennifer own and operate the Wilderness Peaks Gallery in downtown Juneau, Alaska. The Wilderness Peaks Gallery is Alaska's premiere photography gallery, featuring over 80 large format prints, and a range of products such as magnets, greeting cards, posters, and calendars. Each year over 100,000 people visit the gallery to enjoy Daniel's photographs.
